
The Housing Advisory Board convened on Tuesday 2 September in Brussels for their second meeting, with most members present in-person and some online. The independent group is tasked with providing recommendations for the European Affordable Housing Plan, which the Commission is planning to present early 2026. The Advisory Board has divided itself into informal working groups, each tasked with addressing distinct dimensions of the housing crisis.

Energy and Housing Commissioner Dan Jørgensen kicked off the meeting by commending the progress made by the Advisory Board since the inaugural meeting on 30 June.
The coming meetings of the Housing Advisory Board are expected to be online in September and October before a further in-person meeting in November. The Housing Advisory Board plans to adopt their recommendations by the end of the year.
