2nd edition of the Municipal housing workshop

This second workshop builds on the edition held on 8 June 2026, taking the discussion further on social acceptance, management and maintenance business models, and risk-sharing mechanisms to help scale non-profit and limited-profit municipal housing.

Co-organised by the European Commission and Housing Europe, the workshop will bring together city and government representatives, housing providers and federations, academics, and EU policymakers to address the operational challenges involved in delivering affordable housing solutions.

Participants will explore:

• strategies to build community support for municipal housing projects;
• sustainable business models for long-term management and maintenance;
• risk-sharing approaches to strengthen financial viability;
• lessons from successful case studies and transferable frameworks.
