The new Youth Wiki comparative report “Youth access to affordable and quality housing” maps policy measures supporting young people’s access to affordable and quality housing in 34 European countries.
Access to adequate housing is recognised as a key social right under the European Pillar of Social Rights. Yet, many Europeans face significant challenges in finding and securing quality housing. To address this pressing issue, the first-ever European Affordable Housing Plan was launched in December 2025, setting out concrete actions to tackle the structural causes of the housing crisis.
In this context, the present paper sheds light on the specific challenges faced by young Europeans, as evidence points to a particularly critical situation, especially for those with fewer opportunities.
