In the presence of Commissioner Dan Jørgensen, the European Commission has launched today the Housing Advisory Board, an expert group which is tasked with providing concrete, independent policy recommendation for the Commission to consider in preparing the European Affordable Housing Plan.
With strengthened energy independence, lower energy bills, and lower grid investment needs, the revised Energy Performance of Buildings Directive can also help making housing more affordable.

A total of 313 experts, organisations, and citizens have submitted their inputs to the Affordable Housing Plan, in the first round of the consultation process.
The Commission is seeking feedback on how State aid rules can help address the issue of housing affordability. Any interested citizen, business, public authority or association can contribute.
